Bad Fortunes for Fores in First Race at Home

Saturday, 15 October 2016 16:09 GMT

The Spaniard will be looking to turn his fortunes around in Race 2

Race 1 at the Gaerne Spanish Round ended on the second lap for Barni Racing Team’s Xavi Fores who was looking forward to battling for the top positions in front of a home crowd. Both Fores and Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing-Ducati) ran into trouble at turn 1 where they crashed out of the race but thankfully escaped injury.

Fores started from eighth on the grid and was confident he could fight for the podium, after showing a good pace throughout the early weekend. While both riders fell at the same corner, it wasn’t clear what caused the fall as neither rider could confirm whether it was a clash that caused the crash.

"Too bad!” exclaimed the Spaniard. “Unfortunately I crashed after just two laps. Today I felt very good on the bike but I’m still not able to identify the reason for the fall. I was fifth and I was convinced that I have a good enough pace to have a good race. We were simply unlucky. A positive is that we still have a race tomorrow and we will try to give it our best! Now we will work to understand what the mistake was. "

This marks the first fall for Fores this season and he isn’t looking to repeat it any time soon. The Spaniard will be back out on track on Sunday the 16th of October at 13:00 local time (GMT+2). where he will look to find redemption and attempt a podium finish on home soil.
